I am Col.Alexander McKinstry's grgrgr grandaughter and have a copy of the featured picture shown above which you have MIS-IDENTIFIED. He is NOT wearing a Confederate uniform there, but is wearing the uniform he wore at the age of 25 which is the uniform of Colonel, 48th Regiment, 9th Brigade, 4th Division, Militia of the State of Alabama. When Alexander was a Confederate Colonel, he was much older--in his early forties (he was born 7 March 1822 &#38; died in October 1879).
