What is the “Morris Cooper Foote Collection’?

The MCFC is a vast archive of hundreds of items that once personally belonged to Morris Cooper Foote (1843-1905).  The incredible collection was purchased a few years ago by Yeoman’s in the Fork booksellers in Leiper’s Fork, TN.  There are over 500 pieces of important historical documents pertaining to Foote, including personal diaries and journals, an 1864 Civil War diary, hand-written journals from Foote detailing his important work in many Native American campaigns in the 1870s and 1880s, many books from his personal library, photos, artwork, among a myriad of valuable personal items.

The journals themselves (1864, 1867 – 1905) total an amazing 1,700+ pages of highly detailed and important information regarding his experiences.
